Ceramic and granite tile adhesive Teknofay EX C2TE(Текнофей EX C2TE)

Consumption table:

• The surface should be smooth and clean. Before applying the material, clean the surface from any types of oil, rust, detergents, dirt and other substances that prevent setting.
• If there are cracks or cavities on the surface – they must be sealed with Teknorep.
• When laying tiles on a beton surface, it should be moistened.
• In a clean container, pour 6,8-7,2 liters of clean water. Pour the dry powder (25 kg) into a container with water and use a low-speed mixer to knead the compound until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
• Leave the resulting compound for 5-10 minutes, then re-mix it with a mixer for 1-2 minutes.

Application Notes / Restrictions:

• The work should be carried out at an air temperature of +5 to +35 °C. When laying tiles at a low (below +5 °C) or elevated (above +35 °C) temperature, it is necessary to cover the newly laid tile with a thermal insulation material.
• The grout should be applied no earlier than 24 hours after laying the tile.
• After applying the compound, it is necessary to protect the surface from adverse weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, strong wind, high air temperature (more than +35 °C), rain and frost.
• The tools and equipment used must be washed with warm water immediately after use. You should also thoroughly wash your hands and face with warm water and soap.
• The product may cause irritation if it gets on the skin. It is necessary to use work clothes, protective gloves, a mask and glasses. Before starting work, you can also apply a protective cream on your hands. In case of contact with the eyes, immediately rinse the eyes with warm water and consult a doctor.

Storage rules:

• Store in a dry, frost-proof place, in an undamaged original packaging.

1. What kind of tile adhesive for outdoor work?

Not every tile adhesive is suitable for both exterior and interior work. Teknofay EX C2TE material can be safely used for exterior decoration, as it has high strength characteristics and a wide range of operating temperatures. 

2. How to calculate the amount of tile glue?

1. We read on the package the average consumption of the compound per 1 m² (for example, 3.5 kg/m²).
2. Multiply by the number of square meters (for example, by 25 m²).
3. Divide by the number of kilograms in 1 bag (for example, in 1 bag – 25 kg).
4. We get the answer and the required number of bags of glue.
That is, for 25 m² with a material consumption of 3.5 kg/m², it is necessary to purchase 4 bags. It will turn out a little with a margin.

3. Why can't you put a tile on a thick layer of glue?

Too thick a layer of tile adhesive can lead to sliding of the tile during vertical laying, as the material will take longer to grasp, or to a slightly uneven laying. The most important thing when working with an adhesive composition is to use the same layer of glue over the entire work surface.

4. How to properly prepare tile glue?

In order to properly prepare the tile adhesive for work, you should familiarize yourself with the information about the ratio of the components (water and dry powder), their mixing time and the working time of the glue after mixing. For example, to mix Teknofay EX C2TE glue (25 kg), you need to take 6.8-7.2 liters of water, mix the composition twice with a mixer and lay the finishing material within 4 hours.  

5. What kind of glue is needed for underfloor heating?

For laying the finishing coating on a warm floor, it is recommended to pay attention to the tile adhesive Teknofay EX C2TE, which has high adhesion (more than 1.20 MPa) and is used for laying materials such as porcelain, ceramics, granite, marble, etc. The material is ideal for underfloor heating, heated pools and even thermal pools. 

6. How much does a thick layer of tile glue dry?

Any tile adhesive dries on average in 8-24 hours. Applying a thick layer is more dangerous by sliding the finish coating due to the longer drying time of the glue.
