  • Before applying the material, clean the surface from any types of oil, rust, detergents, dirt and other substances that prevent setting.
  • If there are cracks or cavities on the surface – they must be sealed with Teknorep. Apply Teknofay Plus C1TE should be 3-4 days after the cracks are eliminated.
  • When laying tiles on a marble or ceramic surface, you should give it some roughness. When laying tiles on a concrete surface, it should be moistened. We recommend pre-priming the surface using Тeknolatex 300.
  • Pour 6-7 liters of clean water into a clean container. Slowly pour the powder (25 kg) into a container with water and use a low-speed mixer to knead the composition until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
  • Leave the compound for 3-4 minutes, then re-mix it with a mixer for 1-2 minutes.

Notes:

  • Spread the prepared compound over the surface with a toothed spatula of the appropriate size. Place the tile on the surface for 30 minutes. If the compound is on the surface for more than 30 minutes, it must be scraped off and discarded, after which a new compound must be mixed.
  • The work should be carried out at an air temperature of +5 to +35 °C. When laying tiles at a low (below +5 °C) or elevated (above +35 °C) temperature, it is necessary to cover the newly laid tile with a thermal insulation material.
  • The grout should be applied no earlier than 24 hours after laying the tile.
  • After applying the compound, it is necessary to protect the surface from adverse weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, strong wind, high air temperature (more than +35 °C), rain and frost.
  • The tools and equipment used must be washed with warm water immediately after use.
  • The product may cause irritation if it gets on the skin. It is necessary to use work clothes, protective gloves, a mask and glasses. Before starting work, you can also apply a protective cream on your hands.

1. How to determine the thickness of the tile adhesive?

The minimum thickness of the tile adhesive is 2 mm, and the maximum is about 1 cm, in some cases up to 2 cm. The thickness of the adhesive layer depends on the weight of the finishing material. The heavier the material– the thicker the adhesive layer should be.

2. Is it possible to lay tiles in wet weather?

Yes. Laying tiles in wet weather is possible, because the surface on which the finishing material is glued must already be moistened. An important point: the surface should be damp, but without puddles of water.

3. How soon can I walk on the tile?

The average commissioning time of the vertical surface is 8 hours, the horizontal surface is 24 hours. Accordingly, you can walk on the tile in an average of 24 hours.

4. What is the shrinkage of tile glue?

The shrinkage of tile adhesive depends on the dry residue of the material. What percentage of the dry residue in the adhesive solution, this percentage will remain after the material has completely dried.

5. How to properly prepare tile glue?

To prepare a working adhesive composition, pour the dry mixture into a container with clean water and use a low-speed mixer to mix the composition until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Next, you need to leave the resulting mixture for 3-4 minutes, then re-mix it with a mixer for 1-2 minutes.
