Advantages of acrylic waterproofing

What types of waterproofing are there

Waterproofing is one of the most important stages in the repair and construction. It helps to protect the structure from destruction by moisture, and as a result - to extend the service life. There are many types of waterproofing materials.

The composition is distinguished by:

  • cement
  • polymer-cement (or cement-polymer)
  • acrylic
  • polyurethane, etc.

Beyond the destination:

  • for interior work
  • for external work
  • for internal and external work

And also:

  • to protect against the positive effects of moisture
  • to protect against the positive and negative effects of moisture.

Also, waterproofing mixtures are elastic and inelastic.

In this article, we will take a detailed look at the advantages of an acrylic elastic waterproofing mixture, which protects the surface from the positive effects of moisture and is considered a fairly universal material for today.

What are the advantages of Teknomer 300 acrylic waterproofing?

  1. Firstly, it is a one-component composition, ready for use. This means that you will not need to calculate the proportions of water and dry powder for proper mixing of the material, but you just need to open the bucket, mix the composition, take a brush or roller and start applying.

  2. Secondly, the Teknomer 300 waterproofing material is elastic (even at low temperatures), so that it is not prone to cracking either at ambient temperature changes or precipitation, including hail.

  3. Thirdly, the material has good adhesion to the substrate (> 1.0 N/mm2) and it can be applied on surfaces made of reinforced concrete, galvanized metal, polyurethane foam and PVC coatings.

  4. Fourth, Teknomer 300 is a fairly versatile material, as it can be used for waterproofing bathrooms and other rooms with high humidity, balconies, terrace roofs, swimming pools and water tanks.

Do I need to prime the surface before waterproofing?

Professionals recommend to prime the surface in one layer before applying the waterproofing mixture. A huge advantage in using Teknomer 300 acrylic mastic is the fact that, in addition to waterproofing, it can be used as a primer. To do this, you just need to dilute the mixture with water in a ratio of 1:1.

How long does Tekno waterproofing dry?

1 layer of Teknomer 300 waterproofing mixture dries on average within 5 hours. It is recommended to apply the material in several layers, with the next one being perpendicular to the previous one. After 3 days after applying the material, the finish coating should be laid, and after 14 days the surface will be ready for operation.

Turkish manufacturer Tekno has been producing materials in the field of construction chemicals that meet European quality standards for 20 years. Therefore, the materials of the Tekno brand are time-tested.
