The decision to lay ceramic tiles on an existing layer of old tiles should be made after a thorough examination of the surface. If almost every tile is firmly
held on it, then the new facing material will hold perfectly well, provided that the laying is done correctly. And we will tell you about this in our article.

Surface treatment: on the old layer of ceramic tiles it is necessary to go through one of the devices:
Naturally, when working with the first two, it is necessary to use special nozzles for grinding, for example, when processing the surface with a grinder, a diamond disc is used. We need this stage in order to remove the top layer of the tile, especially if it is glossy, and notches are created at this stage.
Stage 2
Seam treatment: if the tile seams were sealed with cement grout, then it should be carefully removed, then clean and rinse the seams, and in the end, again, seal them, but not with grout, but with one of the following materials:

Stage 3
Surface priming: this is not a mandatory step, but it is desirable. After all, primers make the surface more rough, thereby increasing the adhesion between the material and the surface. When laying decorative material on concrete, it is enough to moisten the surface to get an excellent result, but laying on ceramic tiles cannot but differ. Therefore, we can recommend paying attention to the Teknolatex 300 material. This is a primer based on acrylic resins, which is designed specifically to increase the adhesion index when gluing ceramics to ceramics.
Stage 4
The choice of glue and the laying of ceramic tiles itself: not every glue can provide high-quality and durable laying of ceramics on ceramics, since each adhesive composition has differences in technical features, including adhesion.
Therefore, you need to buy glue with a high adhesion index, such as Teknofay Plus C1TE. Thanks to this material, the surface will turn out to be super strong and durable.
We wish you good luck in the repair!
