We select decorative plaster for the facade

Decorative plaster is one of the most popular finishing materials in Europe, but still quite new in the CIS countries. Decorative plaster can be used both indoors and outdoors. Thanks to this material, it is possible to create an imitation of various materials, such as stone, wood and even fabric. It is a strong and durable material, while completely unpretentious in work and care. First of all, let's look at the difference between gypsum plaster and cement-based plaster.

What is the best way to plaster the walls with gypsum or cement?

Gypsum and cement plasters have different components, which is why their fields of application also differ. For example, Teknodeko plaster is made on a cement basis with the addition of polymers. It is ideal for exterior decoration, as the composition is resistant to the influence of all kinds of climatic conditions, including moisture, frost, etc.

The main component of gypsum plaster is natural gypsum with modifying additives. It is considered that it is more comfortable to work with this material, it can be applied to the surface with a thinner layer (due to which the consumption is less in comparison with cement plasters), but it is suitable exclusively for dry rooms, since gypsum plasters are not moisture-resistant and in damp rooms or in rooms with sudden temperature changes can simply start crumble.

Therefore, choosing between gypsum or cement plaster, first of all we evaluate the operational capabilities of the material.

What kind of decorative plaster to choose for the facade?

It is necessary to cover the facade with decorative plaster on a cement base, designed specifically for outdoor use. Teknodeko decorative plaster is an excellent material from the Turkish manufacturer Tekno, the price-quality ratio of which is very pleasing to the Ukrainian market.
