Waterproofing of civil defense protective structures - DBN B.2.2-5:2023

In our difficult times for Ukraine, state building codes must adapt to the realities of our lives. According to DBN B.2.2-5:2023 "Protective structures of civil protection" When constructing shelters, everyone must comply with the adopted standards.

These standards should be applied in new construction and reconstruction of protective structures of civil protection (storages, fallout shelters) and dual-purpose structures with protective properties of shelters or fallout shelters.

Let's consider paragraph 15 DESIGN OF WATERPROOFING OF DEEP PARTS OF PROTECTIVE STRUCTURES AND SPP
15.1 Waterproofing of recessed parts of protective structures of civil protection should be designed in accordance with the requirements of current regulatory documents on the design of waterproofing of underground parts of buildings.
Waterproofing must withstand deformations of structures permitted by the design without rupture. The joints between the elements of building structures must be filled with sealing materials with high elasticity and adhesion to the base, ensuring the continuity of waterproofing during deformations and movements of building structures.
15.2 When choosing waterproofing, the depth of the structure, the level of the maximum rise of groundwater and the hydrostatic pressure of groundwater should be taken into account.
The main types of waterproofing of protective structures are recommended to be roll, coating or spray waterproofing systems. If it is impossible to perform waterproofing along the external contour of the building, it is allowed to use an injection or penetrating waterproofing system.
As we can see, according to DBN B.2.2-5:2023, coating and penetrating waterproofing can be used for waterproofing.
