Why is the use of chemical anchor becoming more and more popular?

The variety of fasteners is increasing every day. If previously there were only universal metal fasteners, now you can find better, durable and easy-to-use devices. One of these is a chemical anchor.

Chemical anchor is the most modern and advanced material for fastening various elements during construction and repair work. It is quite popular among both professionals and amateur craftsmen. 

What are the advantages of using a chemical anchor over a metal fastener?  

Firstly, a wider selection of building materials for fastening. For example, chemical. the anchor will perfectly cope with fixing hollow bricks to the masonry, while fixing hollow material to metal fasteners is not even worth trying.

What are chemical anchors?

Depending on the main constituent component , chemical anchors are of several types:

  • based on polyester resin;
  • based on synthetic epoxyacrylate resin.

The first ones are most often used for small repair work, including home use, since the time of working with a polyester chemical anchor after opening the cartridge is quite limited.

The second type is used more often during large-scale construction and repair work, including in a humid environment, since certain types of chemical. anchors are specially designed for application on wet surfaces, for example, during the repair or construction of bridges.

Which chemical anchor is suitable for home use?

For home use, it is recommended to choose a chemical anchor based on polyester resin. An excellent option with an adequate price-quality ratio is the Turkish-made Teknobond 400P. It comes in 345 ml cartridges and can be stored for up to 12 months in a closed package. 

The Teknobond 400P chemical anchor begins to harden after 7 minutes after application to the surface, and if necessary, it is recommended to wait 1 hour for the desired result to be applied again.

The material is manufactured in accordance with TS EN 1504-6 standards and provides fastening strength up to 60-70 N/mm2.
