Markings on asphalt, as well as markings on concrete, are drawn with special high-quality paints designed to create wear-resistant and durable road markings. And we will tell you about the types and properties of such paints in this article.

Below we will describe each of them in more detail.
Acrylic paints for road marking
Acrylic paints are considered one of the most popular types among paints for road markings.
They are easy to use, wear-resistant and have a wide range of applications, including external and internal use. Both ready-to-use materials and those requiring dilution with water are produced.
We recommend choosing ready-to-use paints based on acrylic resins and solvent, as they are more durable and durable (at least 2 years of use). As an excellent option, you can buy Teknobond 950 paint or Teknobond 980 - cold-applied paint.
Alkyd paints for road marking
Alkyd paints are known for high adhesion rates, so they are most often used on routes where the intensity of operation is very high.
The composition of such a material includes enamels and rubber, which provide high adhesion and wear resistance.
Two-component paints for road markingTwo-component paints are the least popular type of paints for road markings today because of their rather high cost.
At the same time, they are very economical in application (up to 500 g/m2) and super durable in use.
Marking on asphalt
Acrylic paint based on Teknobond 950 solvent is ideal for marking on asphalt.
It can be applied both with a special spray gun and with a brush or roller if the application area is not very large. But remember that each paint (Teknobond 950 is no exception) has a lifetime of the mixture after opening, which usually does not exceed 60 minutes. Therefore, marking on asphalt or other surfaces should be done quickly, after thoroughly mixing the paint.
When applying the material in 2 layers, it is necessary to wait 15-20 minutes after applying the first one.
The marking on the asphalt will be ready for operation in 3 hours after application.
