What is the advantage of topping?
Topping is a special mixture that is used to cover the surface of a concrete floor. Among the components, cement and fillers are used, which increase the resistance to abrasion of the finished surface.
Types of toppings:
The finished mixture contains high-quality Portland cement and special additives that strengthen the top layer of floors. The composition of the mixture includes a filler of a fine fraction. There are three main types.
Quartz topping
This is the most inexpensive topping, which includes finely fractional quartz sand. It is used in warehouses, shopping malls, where the load on the floors is average. Of the features it is worth noting:
- increased wear resistance
- reduction of dust formation
- increased operating time
Corundum topping
Corundum crumbs are added to the composition of this mixture. Topping is ideal for strengthening floors where a large load is provided. Namely, workshops, gyms and warehouse complexes.
Corundum topping has the following features:
- high resistance to any damage
- high-quality connection with concrete
- hygienic and dust-free
- good resistance to moisture
- no seams.
Such a mixture is much more expensive, unlike quartz, but the result justifies the cost.
Metallized topping
The composition includes a specific metal chip, which is necessary for rooms with ultra-high loads. It adds maximum strength. However, metallized topping does not like humidity, as corrosion may occur.
Teknoser 300 is an excellent option for fresh concrete surfaces where corundum crumbs are used in the composition. In addition, the mixture has hydraulic binders, special chemical additives, polymer and special coloring pigment. After applying Teknoser 300, the properties of the concrete surface increase 2 times.
