To date, a well made of concrete rings is one of the most common types of wells, because the rings are very convenient for installation, and concrete itself is a durable, reliable and affordable material. Concrete wells are used for water supply, drainage, sewerage, industrial effluents, heating networks and other underground systems.
By the way, with proper installation of the well rings and the use of high-quality concrete, waterproofing is not always used.
Despite all the advantages of concrete, there is a problem of leaks. Even a small leak can affect the quality of water, because harmful impurities contained in groundwater can easily penetrate into it, or just sand, which will make the water cloudy.
Especially for such situations, there is a special repair compound - a hydro seal.
What is a hydro seal?
A hydraulic seal is a repair compound, the feature of which is the instant elimination of leaks in concrete, including active ones. Thanks to special chemical additives, the hydro seal will reliably eliminate leakage within 30-100 seconds.
An important point: if necessary, seal the leak in the well with water that will be used in the preparation of food, drinks, etc., the material must be non-toxic. Before buying a hydraulic seal, request a certificate from the manufacturer and make sure that the information is accurate.
The hydraulic seal can be used not only to eliminate leaks, but also to seal cracks in concrete, it is quite easy to use, the main thing is to adhere to the manufacturer's recommendations.
It will take about 5 minutes to eliminate one leak.
- Mix a small amount of the dry mixture with water, remembering that after 1-2 minutes the hydro seal will already harden. If the material is of high quality, then after kneading it should be elastic and well molded.
- Seal the leak and hold the material with your hand for about a minute. It is necessary to work in protective gloves.
We recommend paying attention to the Teknoplug hydro seal and the Teknoplug Yildirim instantaneous hydro seal. Both materials are of high quality, tested and are acceptable for contact with drinking water.
The flow rate of the hydraulic seal is about 2 kg per 1000 cm3. The recommended application temperature is from 5°C to 30 °C.
During mixing, the material heats up, as a chemical reaction occurs.
