Such a material is a new generation of decorative plaster – micro cement or micro concrete.
What is a micro-concrete?
Micro concrete is a kind of decorative material that is made on the basis of cement and quartz chips.
In terms of composition and performance characteristics, micro-concrete is very similar to high-quality decorative plaster, since it is also applied as a facing layer on a perfectly flat surface and serves for decades without requiring special care.
Micro-concrete as a separate type of cladding material appeared relatively recently – no more than 10 years ago in Europe, after which it began to spread to other parts of the earth. In Ukraine, it is used only by the most advanced designers and craftsmen, as many simply do not know about all its advantages or are simply afraid to try something new.
What are the advantages of using micro-concrete in interior design?
Among the advantages of using micro concrete in interior design , there are 2 main:
- Strength and wear resistance of treated surfaces;
- The possibility of creating a very beautiful unusual coating.
This material became popular when Loft, High-tech and similar styles began to be actively used in the interior, since it is the micro-concrete that fits perfectly into the most empty and open, but at the same time, very refined space.
On which surfaces can micro-concrete be applied?Micro concrete has a very high adhesion, durability and water resistance, so it can be applied to a variety of surfaces:
- Concrete or cement walls, ceilings and floors;
- Plastered surfaces;
- Furniture, for example, bar counters, countertops, shelves, bedside tables and others;
- Kitchen aprons with the condition that the micro-concrete is coated with a special varnish.
