Application notes
Profflex PU40 can be painted with most water-based paints, however, due to the large number of paints and varnishes available, we recommend a compatibility test before application. Profflex PU40 has good UV resistance, but may discolour under extreme conditions or after very long exposure to UV rays. A compatibility test is recommended before application. Contact with butyl, tar or other materials that release plasticisers such as ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM rubber), neoprene, sulfite etc. should be avoided as this may cause discolouration and loss of adhesion. Do not apply or cure in the presence of uncured silicone sealants, alcohol or other solvent-based cleaners. When using different reactive joint sealants, the first joint sealant must be fully cured before applying the next. Safety recommendations Follow normal occupational hygiene practices. For further information, see the label and material safety data sheet.
