Teknokur 100 is a high–quality membrane-forming agent for concrete surfaces based on acrylic emulsion, designed to protect freshly laid concrete and moisture evaporation. Due to the formation of a film on the surface, moisture is retained in the concrete layer, which has a beneficial effect on the strength of concrete, reduces the risk of shrinkage cracks.

Application

Teknokur 100 is applied to freshly laid concrete, creating a durable, wear-resistant and dust-free surface. It is used for laying concrete at elevated air temperature or strong wind. Protects the concrete surface reinforced with Teknoser topping. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is usually used in warehouses, parking lots, retail premises, aircraft hangars, and can also be used to protect concrete roads and engineering structures such as bridges, subways, tunnels.

Features / Advantages
  • Effectively retains moisture necessary for the hydration of cement in concrete.
  • Much more effective than classical methods, such as covering with wet burlap, film or humidification
  • Reduces the likelihood of shrinkage cracks in concrete.
  • Improves the mechanical strength of concrete
  • Does not contain solvents, can be used indoors
  • Both cement and polymer coatings can be applied to the floor.
  • Easy to use, significantly reduces labor costs

Foundation quality / preliminary preparation

Before applying the material, the surface should be cleaned of any types of oil, rust, detergents, dirt and other substances that prevent setting. Mix the material well before use.

Application

Teknokur 100 can be applied to freshly laid concrete immediately after final grout or to the untreated surface of existing concrete. The material is sprayed with a continuous uniform layer, as well as with a brush or roller. Application to freshly laid concrete gives an additional seal and protects against premature evaporation of moisture, and when applied to an existing concrete surface gives additional reinforcement. For external use, the second layer can be applied within 6 hours after the first application. When applying the material to a surface with a different structure or layers of different thickness, the shade may differ.

Limitation

  • In hot weather (above +300 °C), store Teknokur 100 in a cool place before use.
  • At low temperatures (below +50 °C), this product may become thicker, while its ability to spray is reduced.
  • Keep the spray equipment clean and thoroughly clean it before use from the remnants of previous protective materials.
  • When applying with a spray gun, make sure that the base is evenly coated.
  • When applied with a roller, apply evenly in a thin layer, preventing the formation of puddles.
  • Before applying any coating, the Teknokur 100 material must be mechanically removed.

1. What is curing for concrete?

Curing for concrete is a special liquid hardener for concrete surfaces, which prevents the rapid evaporation of moisture from concrete and the occurrence of shrinkage cracks. A good curing is considered to be Teknokur 100 white.

2. What to do so that the concrete does not crack?

In order for the concrete not to be covered with cracks, it is necessary to observe the correct pouring technology. It is very important to prevent rapid evaporation of moisture, because this is one of the most common causes of cracks on the concrete surface. To do this, a membrane-forming agent can be applied to freshly laid concrete, for example, Teknokur 100 in 2 layers.

3. What is concrete afraid of?

Despite the high strength of concrete, with improper pouring, protection or operation, it can begin to collapse. Bare concrete is not resistant to the influence of moisture, chemicals and high-intensity loads, so it must be reinforced with materials such as concrete additives, toppings, impregnations, varnishes, etc.

4. Is it possible to dilute concrete with water?

When pouring concrete, strict proportions must be observed, because an overabundance of water or other component in concrete can lead to rapid destruction of the concrete base. When pouring concrete in hot weather, you do not need to add more water or wet the concrete immediately after pouring, it is better to apply the Teknokur 100 membrane forming agent, which perfectly fights the rapid evaporation of moisture.

5. How does water affect the quality of concrete?

Water is an indispensable component of the concrete mix. The main thing is not to add too much of it when pouring, as this can reduce the strength and wear resistance of the concrete base.
