- Before applying the material, clean the surface from any types of oil, rust, detergents, dirt and other substances that prevent setting. It should not be applied to wet surfaces.
- All joints and seams should be thoroughly cleaned with a metal brush or sandblasting before applying the sealant, dust residues should be removed with compressed air.
- To prevent smearing of the sealant outside the seams, you should use masking tape. For application, you can use a sealant gun or a special nozzle.
- After placing the sealant inside the sealant gun, the end of the package should be opened. The tip should be adjusted according to the width of the seam. Pressing the trigger of the sealant gun, the mixture should be carefully applied to the seams. After the sealant has hardened, the masking tape should be removed.
Notes:
- Work should be carried out at an ambient temperature above + 5 °C.
- Do not work on wet / wet surfaces.
1. What are the advantages of polyurethane sealants?
In addition to a wide range of uses, high-quality polyurethane sealant has high adhesion to almost all possible building materials, it is also moisture-resistant, resistant to UV radiation and changes in climatic conditions.
2. What can be glued with polyurethane sealant?
With the help of polyurethane sealant, concrete, stone, metal, wood and other building materials can be joined.
3. What is the difference between silicone sealant and polyurethane?
Silicone sealant is the most popular type of sealants for performing repair work. But polyurethane sealants are considered more reliable, durable and durable materials with a wider range of applications.
5. How much does polyurethane sealant cost?
The cost of polyurethane sealant can vary from 150 to 500 UAH (or more) depending on the manufacturer and the quality of the product.
We draw your attention to the high–quality polyurethane sealant from the Turkish manufacturer Tekno - Teknopoliderz 1K, the cost of which is 264 UAH.
6. How to use polyurethane sealant?
The sealant is applied to the cleaned dry seams with a special gun at a temperature of +5 °C. In order for the sealant not to go beyond the seams, it is recommended to use masking tape, which must be removed after the material has solidified.
