How to cover concrete so that it does not leak water?
Concrete needs protection from moisture for one simple reason: when water enters the pores of concrete, it gradually begins to destroy it from the inside

Teknobond 500 – two-component colored epoxy self-leveling water-based floor for the device of industrial polymer coatings, resistant to chemicals. The material is non-toxic, forms a smooth, aesthetically beautiful floor covering when cured.
Application
Teknobond 500 epoxy coating is suitable for use as a base layer in a polymer coating system. It is used in rooms with an average load, such as repair shops, warehouses, multi-storey and underground parking lots, residential premises, cafes, restaurants and educational institutions. It can also be used in wet industrial premises for the production of beverages and food products.

Foundation quality / preliminary preparation
Teknobond 500 material is used on all types of mineral surfaces: old or new concrete foundations, self-leveling repair mixes. The concrete surface should be strong, the recommended compressive strength of the concrete screed should be from 25 N/mm2, and the tear strength from 1.5 N/mm2. The concrete surface must be thoroughly cleaned of weak parts, residues of any foreign materials, dirt, dust and other substances that can reduce the adhesion of the material. Weak concrete must be completely removed, surface defects must be repaired.
Before applying Teknobond 500, the surface must be primed with Teknobond 300 epoxy primer.
Preparation of the working solution
To prepare the working solution, pour component B (approving) into component A (epoxy resin) and use a low-speed mixer (400 rpm) to mix the mixture for 2-3 minutes until a homogeneous mass is obtained. At the same time, it is necessary to capture the areas adjacent to the bottom and to the edges of the mixing tank.
If necessary, quartz sand is added to the Teknobond 500.
Application
Teknobond 500 is applied to a flat and primed concrete surface. The prepared mixture should be evenly distributed over the surface for 30 minutes using a notched spatula or a needle roller to avoid air bubbles.
After applying the material, it should be protected from direct exposure to water for 24 hours.
Limitations
1. What is needed for an epoxy floor?
To create a self-leveling epoxy coating, you need: a strong, smooth concrete surface, a special primer for epoxy floors, without which you should not make an epoxy coating and a notched trowel.
2. How much does the epoxy floor cost?
The cost of an epoxy floor for 1 square meter is about 750 UAH (taking into account the cost of the Teknobond 300 primer and the two-component Teknobond 500 epoxy self-leveling floor).
3. Is it possible to use a self-leveling floor as a finishing coating?
Self-leveling floor is a durable finish coating. A good option is an epoxy self-leveling floor, which is considered a fairly expensive coating, but very beautiful, high-quality and durable.
4. What is a good self-leveling floor?
The advantages of the Teknobond 500 self-leveling floor include high wear resistance, resistance to acids, alkalis and detergents, water resistance, a wide range of colors, and the absence of joints on the surface.
5. What is the consumption of the self-leveling floor?
The consumption of epoxy self-leveling floor is about 1.5 kg/m2. With the addition of quartz sand, the flow rate of the self-leveling floor can be reduced to 1-1.2 kg/m2.
6. Is it possible to lay linoleum on a self-leveling floor?
Yes, you can. Linoleum needs to be laid on a flat surface, so by laying the finishing material on a self-leveling floor, you can achieve a perfectly flat surface.
7. What are the dangers of self-leveling floors?
The self-leveling floor does not pose any danger. The material is non-toxic, so it can be safely used in residential premises, cafes, restaurants and educational institutions.
8. Is it possible to make self-leveling floors in an apartment?
Yes. A self-leveling floor is very convenient to use in an apartment in comparison with a conventional screed, which can only be poured throughout the apartment, while a self-leveling floor can be poured into one or more parts of the room.
9. How much will the epoxy resin floor cost?
The cost of an epoxy resin floor, including an epoxy primer, is about 750 UAH per square meter.
