Polyurethane primer Teknobond 110, 3 kg.

Teknobond 110 is a one-component, solvent-based polyurethane primer. It is used to strengthen and stabilize dusty and brittle surfaces, as well as to increase the wear resistance of mineral surfaces in order to achieve high adhesion on surfaces for polyurethane coatings.

Teknobond 110 is a one-component polyurethane primer containing a solvent.

Areas of use

  • For strengthening and stabilizing dusty and brittle surfaces.
  • To increase the wear resistance of mineral surfaces and to achieve high adhesion on surfaces for polyurethane coatings.
  • It is applied before the base material on absorbent surfaces (wood, concrete, etc.) to increase adhesion.
  • Used as a primer for bitumen-based roll and coating materials before applying polyurethane coatings (roofs, foundations, retaining walls, etc.).

Features and benefits

  • Transparent, resistant to various weather conditions.
  • Resistant to salt water, saline solutions, alkalis, diluted acids, aliphatic solvents, gasoline and mineral oils.
  • Penetrates deeply and provides adhesion to all mineral and concrete surfaces.
  • Easy and simple to apply.
  • Reduces water absorption of concrete, fills non-structural capillary cracks in the surface.
  • Provides two-stage protection, creating a durable waterproof film on the surface.
  • Increases the adhesion of polyurethane-based repair and fillers.

Instructions for use

Surface quality: Concrete and plastered surfaces must be fully cured (28 days) before application of the material. Teknobond 110 is applied after removing mortar residues and weak parts, old paint, dirt, dust from the hardened surface by light sandblasting, wire brush or scrapers. Oil and grease residues are cleaned with water and detergent. If neutralization of volatile materials is required, the surface must be wiped with a solution of hydrochloric or acetic acid with a concentration of 3-4%, then rinsed with water. Before direct application of Teknobond 110, it is necessary to make sure that the surface is completely dry.

Surface preparation: The surface to be applied must be free of any substances that prevent adhesion, such as grease, rust, detergents, as well as loose and mobile particles. The humidity of the concrete surface must not exceed 4%. If there are cracks or potholes on the surface, they should be repaired with appropriate cement (TEKNOREP) or epoxy (TEKNOBOND 400) mortars.

TEKNOBOND 110 is applied continuously to the cleaned surface using a brush or roller. Each layer is applied with a thickness of approximately 20-50 microns (dry film). The surface should be protected from water for 3-4 hours after application.

Curing stage: Until Teknobond 110 has completely hardened, water should not be allowed to enter the surface and it should not be opened to foot traffic (24 hours).

Application Notes / Limitations

  • TEKNOBOND 110 is applied in one or two layers depending on the porosity and texture of the surface.
  • If the primer is applied in two coats, the second coat should be applied when the first coat is not yet completely dry but is already tacky.
  • The correct time can be determined by checking the tackiness of the primer layer with your hand. If applied too early, evaporation of the solvents will be difficult, which will have undesirable consequences for subsequent coatings.
  • If the second coat is applied too late, it will negatively affect adhesion.
  • In hot weather, especially on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight, the primer will dry faster. In such cases, you should not delay applying a second coat.

Cleaning:

After application, the surface must be protected from adverse weather conditions, such as direct sunlight, strong wind, high air temperature (above +30°C), rain and frost. After completing the work, wash your hands with soap and water.

Contains solvent, flammable. Do not work with material near open flames, do not smoke during application.

When applied in a thick layer, it forms foam; it should be applied in a thin layer.

For complete curing of TEKNOBOND 110, the relative humidity of the air must be between 40% and 90%.

Before applying the base coat, wait for the solvent to completely evaporate.

Work only in well-ventilated areas or outdoors. Be aware that a strong solvent odor may develop in enclosed areas.

Use gloves, goggles and protective clothing. In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water.

Apply with a brush with short, stiff bristles or a roller with short pile.

Immediately after application, before hardening, tools should be cleaned with solvents.
