  • Before applying the material, the surface should be cleaned of any types of oil, rust, detergents, dirt and other substances that prevent setting.
  • If there are cracks or other damages on the surface, they must be previously repaired with Teknorep repair solutions. Use Tekomer 300 EX 3 - 4 days after surface repair.
  • You should also determine the water pressure. Teknomer 300 EX is resistant to positive water pressure. If the water pressure is negative, do not use this waterproofing compound.
  • On the surface that will be laid with tiles, you should work out every corner with the help of Teknomer pah bandi tape.
  • Teknomer 300 EX should be applied to the surface with a brush or roller. Each next layer should be applied perpendicular to the previous one.
  • The drying time of the layer is about 5 hours.
  • When applying waterproofing to the screed, it is necessary to use a waterproofing mesh between the layers.
  • Before using the compound, it is necessary to mix it for at least 5 minutes.
  • The compound can be used as a primer. In this case, water should be added to the compound in a ratio of 1:1.

Notes:

  • After applying the waterproofing make sure that direct sunlight and precipitation do not fall on the surface, and also do not use the material at temperatures above + 35 ˚С and below + 3 ˚С.
  • It is not recommended to use the compound at very high or low temperatures.
  • After 3 days after applying the waterproofing, tiles or ceramics should be laid or plaster or screed should be applied to protect against all kinds of damage, scratches and bumps.
  • Work should be carried out in compliance with safety and hygiene standards, using a mask and glasses.
  • The tools and equipment used must be washed immediately after use.

1. How to do waterproofing in the bathroom?

The waterproofing mixture should be applied to the cleaned mineral surface in 2 layers with a break of 5 hours. For high-quality waterproofing of the bathroom, layers are applied perpendicular to one another. After the waterproofing has completely dried, the finishing material must be laid.

2. What is waterproofing for?

Waterproofing is needed to protect roofs, swimming pools, balconies, terraces, bathrooms and other rooms with high humidity from the destruction of concrete, from the occurrence of leaks, from the appearance of fungus and mold, from carbonation in concrete, etc.

3. Do I need to prime the waterproofing in the bathroom?

Priming the concrete surface in the bathroom should be done before applying the waterproofing mixture. When using Teknomer 300 EX acrylic mastic, it can be used both as a primer, diluted with water, and as waterproofing.

4. What is acrylic waterproofing?

Acrylic waterproofing is a ready-to-use mastic based on acrylic dispersion. The material is one-component and elastic. Teknomer 300 EX acrylic waterproofing is applied to concrete and reinforced concrete surfaces, galvanized metal, polyurethane foam coatings and PVC.

5. How to apply waterproofing mastic correctly?

Waterproofing mastic is applied to a clean, durable surface in 2 layers at a temperature of + 5 ˚С to + 35 ˚С. After applying the first layer, an insulating tape is laid on all seams and joints. 3 days after applying the mastic, a tile or other finishing coating is laid.
