- Before applying the material, the surface should be cleaned of any types of oil, rust, detergents, dirt and other substances that prevent setting.
- If there are cracks or other damages on the surface, they must be previously repaired with Teknorep repair compounds.
- You should also determine the water pressure. Teknomer 200 EX W-Blue is resistant to positive water pressure. If the water pressure is negative, do not use this waterproofing.
- Sharp corners and edges must be sealed with a thick repair compound Teknorep 300.
- On the surface that will be laid with tiles, you should work out every corner with the help of Teknomer pah bandi tape.
- To prepare the working solution, pour the liquid component (10 liters) into a clean container, then slowly pour out the powdered component (20 kg) . Using a low-speed mixer (500 rpm), knead the composition for 5 minutes until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Leave the resulting compound for 2 minutes, then re-mix the compound for 1-2 minutes.
- Teknomer 200 EX W-Blue should be applied to the surface with a brush or spatula. Each next layer should be applied perpendicular to the previous one.
- The drying time of one layer is 5-6 hours.
- The total thickness of the layers is 2-3 mm.
Notes:
- Do not apply the compound on chipboard, MDF, plywood, PVC, wooden and metal surfaces.
- Do not add water to the compound.
- After 3 days after applying the waterproofing, tiles or ceramics should be laid or plaster or screed should be applied to protect against all kinds of damage, scratches and bumps.
- After applying the waterproofing make sure that direct sunlight and precipitation do not fall on the surface, and also do not use the material at temperatures above + 35 ˚С and below + 3 ˚С.
- Work should be carried out in compliance with safety and hygiene standards, using a mask and glasses.
- The tools and equipment used must be washed immediately after use.
1. What to use for waterproofing the roof?
For waterproofing the roof, it is necessary to choose materials that are resistant to UV rays.
2. How to waterproofing a concrete pool?
For the waterproofing of the pool, you can choose any elastic polymer-cement waterproofing material and lay a finishing coating on top, for example, tile. Or choose waterproofing, which can also serve as a finishing coating, for example, Teknomer 200 EX W-Blue.
3. How much does waterproofing for swimming pools cost?
Waterproofing of one square meter of the pool can cost from 250 to 550 UAH, depending on the selected waterproofing mixture. But when using waterproofing that is resistant to ultraviolet rays, you can save on the finishing material: tile, glue, grout, etc.
4. What kind of waterproofing should I choose for the pool?
For waterproofing the pool, it is recommended to choose an elastic material, so that when the concrete bowl shrinks, it does not become covered with cracks. You can also make a 2-in-1 hydro insulation, which, in addition to protecting against moisture, will also serve as a finishing coating. In this case, you should choose a material that is resistant to ultraviolet rays.
5. How to make waterproofing in the pool?
The waterproofing mixture is applied to the concrete basin of the pool with a brush or a spatula in 2-3 layers, where each next one should be perpendicular to the previous one.
