RubberElast® is an elastic-plastic joint sealing tape , which is used to seal joints of reinforced concrete structures. BasicElast ® is applied to the joint directly from the roll with the protective layer facing up and pressed tightly along the entire length. Before pressing, the sealing tape must be bent to the desired shape in the corners. To lengthen the RubberElast® tape, cut the ends at an angle (from 30° to 45°) so that after pressing they are connected on top of each other, without increasing the cross-section of the tape at the joint. We recommend a sharp knife for cutting (the knife should cut, not press). Before installing the next element, remove the protective strip and make sure that the sealing tape is fixed in the desired position securely and without displacement. Immediately after this, press the next part against the sealing tape in the area of the joint to be glued. For low water pressure (e.g. accumulated infiltration water), a compression of the sealing tape of about 60% is sufficient. To achieve the full sealing effect of RubberElast ®, it is necessary to ensure that the sealing tape is compressed during installation at each joint point by 70-90% of its original height. The joint can be tested for tightness and exposed to water immediately after assembly.

Surface preparation:
The surface must be firm and stable, free from dust, grease, oils and other materials that impair adhesion. The surface must be dry during installation. For complex surfaces, we recommend using RubberElast® primer in addition. In case of doubt, a preliminary test is recommended. Application RubberElast® is applied to the joint directly from the roll with the protective layer facing up and pressed firmly along the entire length. Before pressing, the sealing tape must be bent to the desired shape in the corners. To extend the RubberElast® tape, cut the ends at an angle (from 30° to 45°) so that they are connected on top of each other after pressing, without increasing the cross-section of the tape at the joint. We recommend a sharp knife for cutting (the knife should cut, not press). Before installing the next element, remove the protective strip and make sure that the sealing tape is securely fixed in the desired position and without displacement. Immediately after this, press the next element against the sealing tape in the area of the joint for bonding.
Note:
Please note (especially for horizontal joints) that RubberElast® tape is a sealing tape and is not used for load transfer - if necessary, the latter must be ensured by other suitable measures. To avoid damage to the sealing tape, the width of the seam must not be less than 2 mm at any point and at any time. RubberElast® requires a higher compression force than a product from the same RubberElast® series. This must be taken into account if RubberElast® is used in conjunction with the btspannschloss® tension lock.
Not suitable for use in conditions involving contact with oils or organic solvents (gasoline, diesel fuel).
At low temperatures, installation can be facilitated by storing the RubberElast® material in a warm room (at room temperature) until the time of installation.
To further facilitate installation, the surface of the part can be additionally heated in the joint area.
